To tie in with promoting the Hong Kong new generation films, the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild organised the “Cross-straits Summit Forum”. Two topics were added to the discussion, including “The Strategies for Hong Kong Film New Action and its relation to the Hong Kong Film Development Fund” and “The Future of Hong Kong - Continue to Make Miracles?”. Participants were invited to express their views on the development of the Hong Kong new generation films. The forum attracted over 200 participants and it was the highest record ever. Film Directors of Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan responded with enthusiasm and made constructive suggestions for exploring the Greater China film market.
