Summary of Projects Financed by “Hong Kong Film Development Fund”

(1) Financing Film Productions

A total of 22 applications have been received since the launch of the Film Production Financing Scheme under the Film Development Fund (FDF) in October 2007. Of these applications, 15 were approved with a total funding of about $41.71 million. 1 is being processed and 3 were withdrawn by the applicants. Only 3 applications were unable to obtain approval for financing under FDF.

  The 15 approved films are of different genres, including animation, kung-fu, romance, ethical, suspense films, etc. These films have engaged six directors who are film directors for commercial films for the first time. It shows that the Scheme is conducive to the nurturing of new directors.
